Our Mission

Established in 2011, The Foundation That Love Built focuses on furnishing funds to the truly underprivileged students in Sarasota and Manatee County, FL, as well as in the Dominican Republic, in order to advance their education.  Funds provided go towards helping students pay for needs ranging from school supplies, school lunches, uniforms, and tuition. Our goal is to offer students, who have grown up typically in impoverished situations, the means to continue on to higher education.  They will be often the first in their family to do so.  The Foundation That Love Built believes firmly that the more young people have access to education, the more likely they are to continue on to successful careers and give back to their communities.

Even though most of our sponsored students must work part-time and even full-time jobs, they are held to high academic standards, and in most cases have mentors to assure their academic progress.  Despite such hardships, as having no study space in their homes, many graduate from college and become successful professionals.  Some of them have in turn established scholarships and furnished education opportunities to others.  It is a great joy to witness these students and their families realize their life goals.

The Foundation That Love Built strives to establish faith-based partnerships, collaborating with the partners, so as to identify and assist those most in need.  We know that the benefits, related to every young person put on the road to higher education, will ripple through their families and communities, and beyond, contributing to a better world.
